Leesburg, FL -- St Paul Catholic Church in Leesburg, FL announces the Grand Opening and Dedication Ceremony for the Bishop Dorsey Center for Catholic Studies in Ocala. After several years of collaboration with other parishes, the center will be celebrated with a ribbon cutting ceremony on November 6 from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm.
The Center for Catholic Studies, located at Trinity Catholic High School in Ocala, is a state of the art research facility providing extensive resources for the facilitation of scholarly study of the Roman Catholic Faith, including the personal collection of Bishop Norbert M. Dorsey, who retired in 2004, after 14 years with the Diocese or Orlando.
The Center provides access to College and University materials that are not traditionally available though internet or local libraries, including over 2300 books. The Center is open to local clergy, religious men and women, lay evangelists, students, and other interested persons across Central Florida.
St. Paul’s would like to thank all of the contributing parishes for their support, including Founding Parishes of St. Timothy (Lady Lake), Blessed Sacrament (Clermont), Blessed Trinity (Ocala), and St. Mary of the Lakes (Eustis). In total, 16 churches within the Orlando Diocese helped make the Center possible.
